The National Defence Academy (NDA) is the joint services academy of the Indian Armed Forces — the Army, Navy, and Air Force. It is the first tri-services academy in the world, where cadets from all three forces train together before moving on to their respective service academies for pre-commissioning training.

• Academics: Cadets pursue a full-time degree program (B.Sc, B.A, or B.Tech).

• Physical Training: Regular drills, PT, swimming, horse riding, and endurance activities.

Selection Process for NDA

Admission to NDA is through a national-level examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) twice a year — NDA-I and NDA-II.

The selection process includes:

• Written Examination (Mathematics & GAT)

• SSB Interview (Personality and Intelligence Assessment)

• Medical Examination

Eligibility Criteria

• Nationality: Indian Citizen

• Age Limit: 16½ to 19½ years

• Education: 10+2 passed or appearing (Physics and Maths required for Air Force & Navy)
